In 2020, Giridhar retired as the Executive Director and Country Head (Engineering & Projects, HSE, and Marketing Strategy) from Indian Oil Corporation Limited, the largest commercial oil company in India. He started his career in 1982 at Tata Group of Companies. Over a prolific career spanning almost four decades, Giridhar has built expertise in a plethora of fields, namely engineering projects design, execution and monitoring, HSE in Oil & Gas business, international business development, strategy development for ongoing business challenges and disruptions, supply chain management, and web applications design and development. His most noteworthy professional achievement lies in completing $2 billion grassroot projects within the approved cost and time frame.

Giridhar loves travelling – despite the demands of his career, he has taken out time to travel to 15 countries as of 2020 (and counting). However, his favorite places to visit remain the Swiss Alps, and Leh, Ladakh in India. Incidentally, he is responsible for the construction of the highest LPG Bottling Plant in the world at Leh. Giridhar’s favorite book is India After Gandhi by Ramachandra Guha. He is an avid fan of both cricket and the European Football League. Describing himself as a “challenge seeker who enjoys disruption management with innovative solutions”, Giridhar lives by the following words: “success of determination is when your toughness is envied by your critics”.
